There is always work put into the creation and inception of a piece that doesn’t make the final product. These are the discarded scraps that litter the studio floor, and we wanted to give them a home here. Pitches, boards, design thinking, bits of paper, storyboards, color schemes, character studies, scraps – every detail is important, no effort is ever wasted in the creation of something beautiful.

Samsung / Blacklist

This is a job we won, but the design style changed dramatically from what we initially pitched. We think it still came out cool, but below is another style that would’ve allowed the characters to be a bit more loveable.

PNC / Blacklist

Here’s my favorite image from this pitch.
This was one of those pitches where there was no time. Once we decided on a direction, we had to go with it screaming with no turning back. I wish there was more time to flesh out concepts in the pitch phase such as this, where we could’ve spent time on the important stuff (concept) before look and feel.

Argh.

A bunch of astronauts hopping to a bar in zero gravity to get a drink: what more can you hope for to animate on a job. Sadly, this one didn’t happen.
